The Tulip season

As you can imagine the gardens are enjoying this wonderful weather and the spring display is looking great. At the moment the Tulip plays and Alpinum are the stars of the show. Again a huge thank you to Nigel McCall for the lovely photographs

The hot colour scheme of Tulips and Forget-me-nots as the yellow Tulips age they turn burnt orange.
The combination we have used is Tulipa Hermitage, Coluer cardinalShowcase, Orange Princess, Rhapsody of smiles and Queen of the Night

The Upper walled garden is coming to the peak of the Tulip display which is generally pink and cream at the moment but deeper purples will start to show through soon

A wider view of the Upper walled garden

We have recently opened up new views from the Alpinum which make it look much better and allow the Magnolia 'Centennial' in the stream garden to be seen.

The Pulsatilla and Muscari are looking particularly good in the Alpinium at the moment
